Weather for the first week of April, 2019

Although April is starting off a little cool, at 1.8 Celsius average temperature for the first week, no doubt it will catch up to the normal of 6.5 Celsius as the month progresses. Buds are beginning to unfurl on some maple trees, songbirds can be heard in the garden and the ice went out on the Chateauguay River overnight Thursday into Friday. There was 5.6 mm of precipitation so unlike Gaspé, where they had another 30+ cm of snow on top of the 500+ cm mountain of snow they already have, spring is on its way.
