To get 2018 off to a good start, Cine-Cinema is pleased to present Les rois mongols, the latest film by Luc Picard, Quebec actor and filmmaker.
This drama for all takes place in Montreal in October 1970. When 12 year-old Manon learns that she and her brother are soon to be placed in a foster family, she decides to do something about it. Inspired by FLQ terrorists’ acts, with the help of her two cousins, Manon decides to kidnap an old woman in order to claim the right to choose her future. The four children and their prisoner find refuge in the countryside.
According to film critic, Elizabeth Lepage-Boily, Les rois mongols holds deeply moving surprises and is full of humour and sensitivity. The film will be presented on Friday, January 12 at 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday, January 14 at 2 p.m. in its original French version with English subtitles. Admission is $7. for adults and $3 for children, 16 years and under. Cine-Cinema holds its activities at The Little Green Library at 4 Lorne in Huntingdon.
