Ormstown 4-H Club held their annual banquet at the Village Church in Ormstown on December 15. We had 75 members, parents & guests attend the festivities; the banquet was catered by Allison Harding. She served us a turkey dinner with all the fixings.
Members of our club did reports on the year’s activities that we did together, including the TD 4-H Dairy Classic, square dancing, attending local fairs, and the Ormstown-Howick 4-H exchange to Brandon, Manitoba.
Awards were also handed out for our Tractor Rodeo, which was held on October 21st at Charlesview Farm in St-Anicet. This event focuses on safety as well as skills. The Junior trophy winner was Willyam Bryson, and Senior winner was Christina Knox. In other awards, the John A. Brown Perseverance Award went to Christina Knox, and the President’s Cup was transferred from outgoing president Adele Bryson to Ashleigh Cavers the 2019 president.
The 2019 executive committee for the Ormstown 4-H Club is Ashleigh Cavers (President), Adele Bryson (Vice President Dairy), Christina Knox (Vice President Square Dance), Connor Bryson (Secretary), Ella Bryson (Treasurer) and Hailey Trépanier (Press Correspondent).
We are looking forward to the coming year’s activities, which will start this month with square dancing practices and a dairy barn meeting.
