It was the dream of a community, a desire to be better informed and to take responsibility as citizens, which brought at least twenty people together last September 24 with the goal of founding the Citizens’ Committee of the Municipality of Saint-Anicet.
During the meeting, those present were keen to define a mandate for the new committee, which reads as follows: “Discuss matters relating to the well-being of all citizens of the municipality of Saint-Anicet and, when necessary, implement projects and/or convey recommendations to the various bodies concerned.”
The Citizens’ Committee is open to all citizens, young and old.
The goal of the committee is to bring citizens together to share skills and experiences for the common good, to take an active role in municipal life and to prioritize projects that will improve quality of life.
A working group was formed to ensure the ideas discussed are followed up. The next meeting of the Citizens’ Committee will take place on Saturday, October 8, at 9:30 am at the Town Hall. All citizens are welcome.
