A quiet week for precipitation with 1.2 mm of freezing rain and 8.0 cm of snow for a total of 8.7 mm, which makes the month-to-date total of 18 mm of precipitation less than half of normal.
The yo-yo weather that has been the hallmark of this winter so far will continue in the coming week with minus temperatures in the teens to start but rising to zero mid-week before plunging back down to -20 Celcius at night time. However, that will be the end of it – the rest of January will be staying cold, with nighttime lows ranging from -15 to -25 Celcius. Bundle up!
