Chateauguay Valley Weather Report by Peter Finlayson
Early May has continued the pattern of the last few months – a bit of nice weather followed by more rain.
Mid-week, farmers were finally able to get out in the fields for cultivating and seeding small cereals. Then, on Friday, back came the rain – 23.5 mm for the week, which brings the month-to-date total to 41 mm. If the pace continues, May will be 50% wetter than normal, which was the case in April.
The average temperature for the past week was 10.1 Celsius, which is up from the week before at 7.4 Celsius but still below the normal for May at 14.3 Celsius.
The forecast for the rest of the month is daytime highs in the upper teens and lower twenties, with nighttime lows normal or above at 7-10 Celsius.
