World Book and Copyright Day is celebrated every year on 23 April, a date chosen by UNESCO to honour writers and literature and to promote the joy of reading, particularly amongst the young. The idea for this celebration was inspired by a custom that started in Catalonia, where, on the 23rd of April (Saint-George’s day), merchants would offer a rose with the purchase of a book.
On the 27, 28 and 29th of April, during our usual hours of operation, the Little Green Library will offer a free book from our little bookstore to all visitors, members or not. Welcome all!
The library is located at 4 Lorne Street, Huntingdon.
