Let’s Visit our Seniors Challenge!

June 1st to 30th Let’s Visit and Celebrate our Seniors Challenge!

Are you ready for a challenge?
The Let’s Visit our Seniors Challenge is intended to raise awareness among families and the public and to encourage them to take action against isolation amongst seniors by sharing the importance of visiting! It is also intended to celebrate our seniors by promoting “happy visits” and by offering them quality company each year from June 1st to 30th.

What is a “happy visit”?
Here are some examples of visits and acts of compassionate care:
– Some examples of a friendly meaningful visit
•  Home Visit               • Phone Call
•  Facetime                  •  Skype

– Some examples of acts of compassionate care
•  Outings                          •  Bringing in a Meal
•  Going for a Walk          •  Playing a Game
•  Offering Flowers          •  Taking Out the Garbage and Recycling

Let’s Celebrate our Seniors: It’s everyone’s business!

One of our objectives is to introduce a solidarity movement within the Haut-Saint-Laurent community with this challenge and an awareness campaign regarding the compassionate care of seniors.

Municipal, institutional, private, community, school, and para-municipal sectors – as well as families are all encouraged to involve seniors in an original activity during visits.

June 15th, World Elder Abuse Awareness Day wear purple!
